Pachyphytum bracteosum is a silver-grey succulent with stunning red flowers during summer.
Pachyphytum bracteosum is a small intense heat tolerant plant. It can withstand poor soil conditions as long as it is free draining soil. Ideal in rock gardens or as a house plant. It will not survive frost or prolonged temperatures under 7 Celsius. It has low watering needs and is low maintenance.
Pachyphytum bracteosum is recommended for the following applications:
Pachyphytum bracteosum will grow to about 12 inches tall at maturity with flower stems growing up to 24 inches long. If planted outside, this plant will need to be brought indoors during the winter as this is when it does most of its active growing. Water only when it is dry and avoid getting water on the leaves.
This plant does best in full sun. It does best in average to dry conditions, and will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH.
Pachyphytum bracteosum is a fine choice for the summer rock garden or as a house plant.
