DESCRIPTION: Brandywine Red is one of the most popular and best-tasting heirloom tomatoes; described as having a "great tomatoey flavour", (others have called it a sandwich sized tomato that is offset by a wonderful acidity). Its fruit has the beefsteak shape and mixed red and deep purple flesh. Large-lobed with a thin, pinkish-red skin. Very vigorous; best if staked, caged, or trellised.
